When We Multiplied

If you haven’t read the first blog post for Still Waters Cottages, you may want to… it’s the preface to the story.

We were just settling in to our new home (the former and singular, Still Waters Cottage) and getting all the finishing touches done when an opportunity to multiply was brought before us. You see, we owned a tiny, efficient piece of property… a little postage stamp that wasn’t smack in the middle of a city, this one was on the water, with a killer view. The owners of the cottages surrounding us were ready to let them go, as a single purchase, and pass the torch to us. They knew how much we loved and appreciated this place and they were hopeful that the future would look bright with some love and TLC. The cottages were tired and needed a facelift and a cleanse of sorts… the bones were good but they needed next level treatment. We were up for the challenge! If you know me (Trisha), I’m a visionary… I can dream, sketch plans and budget like it’s nobody’s business. We determined that three of the four cottages were able to make the cut; however one, the former “Rest-A-While Cottage” succumbed to its age and disrepair. So many memories were made at this cottage over the years; and I am not ashamed to say, I shed a tear for them the day the cottage was removed.

The blood, sweat, and tears that went into the next six months was not for the faint of heart. We cleaned, repaired, replaced, removed and upgraded and we did it 3 times over for each of the cottages. We finished just in time for summer of 2019! What a feeling to have them DONE! To create the listings on Airbnb and wait for the fun part… hosting guests!

We love when people love it here. It’s our mission; to help people unwind, relax and have fun at Still Waters Cottages.
